Duplicate Thread Rating System: Like/Dislike

Greetings,

Here's a a feature suggestion for xenForo.

Suggestion:
If xenForo dev's have made up their mind about not wanting the star rating to come into the forum, then why not like/dislike thread. And it would display how many likes (up votes)/dislikes (down votes) each thread would get.

Sometimes the forum needs these extra features because it can add more realism, social, etc to it instead of there just being random messages, you know?.

Please look into this.

Thank You.

Liking the first post is equivalent to liking the thread (you can even sort threads by this metric). Its also been said elsewhere that a form of dislike would not make it into the software.

Ok, how about this:

The amount of like's the first post gets (thread starter post) -> The amount of those likes are displayed in a more importance way on the forum.
- Under Thread tools or something on the forum page.
- Where rating on forums are on the threads list.

The data is exposed already, you can modify the templates to get it to display more prominently:

Thread tools aren't available to members unless they have moderating permissions at this time.

ok sure then no dislikes but what about just making the "like" system seem more important.
and remember this is not facebook, its a community forum. if people want facebook they will go to facebook.

I just want to highlight that dislike would not be here not comparing with Facebook.

I think the idea of the suggestions forums is that the poster (in this case you) makes a suggestion on how change/improve something rather than just stating that it should be changed/improved and leaving it to others to suggest how this is done. :)
