Facebook Forums has arrived. Everyone can start his own forum now. All hosted on facebook.
I wonder if Scott MacVicar is involved in the development of facebook forums.

A rap forum as an example:

    Here is the general index:

I do think that Facebook forums will spread like wildfire, because there are already hundreds of millions of members connected. Friends will get alerts of posts. Visiting a facebook forum automatically makes you a member of that forum.

But dont forget to integrate your member base with facebook!

I imagine the content and discussions will degenerate into nothing but a mass of spam and trolls.

Maybe. But now that 800 million people are a very small step away from being a member of these forums and already get notifications for these forums if one of their friends posts something, now the heat is surely on. I suspect that this is just version 1.0 and it will develop further from here on.

Facebook was already contending for forum users their time. Now facebook offers free forums. Times may get difficult for weak forums and for stale forum software(vb). I think that innovation is very important to stay ahead of the game.

How do you secure your name? Do you automatically get forum/"pagename"?

It looks like a merge between Wordpress's PressBB [em, whatever its called], and god forbid me saying this - phpbb.

I know I'm going to get flamed for the phpbb part.

I expect that you can just create a forum and choose a name.

Pretty sure this is third-party; why would a Facebook-official app have a "Rate us 5 stars!" link in the top corner? :p

EDIT: Wait; didn't they just insert some type of forum into a custom tab? o_O

It looks like they are using the vbulletin3 navbit icons. Or is that something the OP uploaded as part of making an alteration?

I thought that's what those icons were, but I wasn't absolutely sure. Nonetheless I've uninstalled the forum and reported the app. :)
