The world would be a better place without CAPS LOCK

I mostly hate capslock - it wastes huge amounts of time retyping in lower case.

I think the problem is not that there IS a capslock - clearly it has some uses not least when eating or cuddling Ms Cat so typing one handed!
but it's far to easy to press it unintentionally because it's right in the peak action zone on keyboard..

Since most useful applications of it are for longer usage, not frequent quick changes, why can't it be put up with the delete key top right?
My keyboard has SCR up there. I'd rather SCR was bottom left where CAPSLOCK is, and vice versa. Pressing SCR inadvertently would usually do no harm, and having it closer to hand would be helpful.

With a new mouse I recently purchased (Logitech) I had to install their Set point software I noticed that the keyboard settings (since I already use a Logitech based keyboard) there was an extremely nice option at my disposal. #Success

Caps Lock doesn't bother me. No reason for keyboards to get rid of it when it has plenty of legitimate uses.

I'm one of the few that keeps hitting the Caps Lock by mistake so it's more of a nuisance to me than a productive key on the keyboard. For what I'm doing, mainly type in posts the shift and <press key> to capitalise serves me well *coughs* minus the mistakes made *coughs*

But you have to admit? it's awesome to finally have the over-sized caps disabled since my keyboard is kind of petite. :D

Would be nice to turn it off for forum posts, but I need it in documents, like contracts. legalities and webdev workflow.

What I would really like to get rid of is F-lock and Num-Lock being off by default. Does anyone have an idea bout that?

Not really a keyboard problem. More like an internet common-sense problem with people stupidly TYPING LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME NOT REALISING THAT THE ONLY TIME YOU TYPE IN CAPS ONLINE IS TO CONVEY THAT YOU ARE PISSED AND WANT TO YELL AT THEM.

If you dont like your capslock key, grab a knife and jimmy it off the keyboard ;)

Or just disable it in your mouse/keyboard software settings if your mouse Keyboard supports it.

Because a lot of keyboard no longer have keys there.

Dont forget, this is the post-pc era. Big ass keyboards are dying as there is no point in them for most people these days. I use an Apple wireless compact keyboard - it has no numpad, and is essentially like a laptop keyboard - I'm a programmer and it works perfectly despite being uses literally 16 hours a day.
