XF 1.4 The requested URL /forums/ was not found on this server.

Whenever I click "Forums" on my site, it says "The requested URL /forums/ was not found on this server."

Yes, I did move hosts correctly and I moved the database too and configured it, but why this error?

Do you have Friendly URLs enabled?

Is the server configured correctly to support them and is the .htaccess file in place?

Friendly URLs is enabled, and I don't know if the server is configured correctly to support them, I can't seem to find the htaccess file in my var/www/ folder.
I'm on dedicated server

You will need to check both of those then.
A new default .htaccess file can be created by renaming the htaccess.txt file.

Otherwise you can just disable Friendly URLs.

I renamed the htaccess.txt file that's in the www directory but it didn't re-create a new one..

Renaming it from htaccess.txt to .htaccess is creating a new one.
