The first of many victories!

Congratulations to the xenForo team! :)

Indeed some great news! :D You guys keep your heads up, you didn't deserve this lawsuit. At all.

Claim 6) Breach of Duty of Loyalty - That by creating XF he has gone against the best interests of VB. That he was creating XF while working for VB - Kier is the only one that knows if this is true or not... but he has already shown how quickly and easily it is to push high quality products out using the framework and will most likely be able to show how he did it in such a short time

I'm very interested to actually hear how XenForo got developed between Kier and Mike when this is all over. Maybe he'll post it somewhere?

Might prove very useful to anyone who wants to develop software and thing the imposible is impossible. :p

The idea, or the development strategy?

I think both the approach with how the idea of XenForo was born through how you guys went through development, approaches you took, and how you managed to do things quickly but still maintain quality/consistency.

I guess a "Creating XenForo" documentary of sorts? Might be a bit much though.

Off topic for the thread but I've always wondered what the first file/line of code/character was :D
Difficult to say exactly what the first line of code was, but the first commit to the code repository was a pair of directories...

For my part, the first code I committed was a little test while I was figuring out jQuery.

Guys - I understand where you're coming from and I'd be curious too. :) For prudence, I am not sure that it is fair to ask questions of Kier that might pertain to the lawsuit, no matter how innocuous they sound. It places him in a difficult position. While much of this seems harmless, one never knows the tangled web that can be woven with information. After all, until late last year I had no idea that permalinks and other rather standard SEO strategies would be claimed as the proprietary property of someone else.

Anyways, if you're keeping score at home, 25% of the complaint was dismissed yesterday. I like round numbers and quantities.

Why does it say 2 years ago? Does that mean those directories still exist alone on a server and hasn't been touched since then? If so, that really doesn't prove a thing (as one member thought it did).
