[TH] Library [Deleted]

Dre that looks really cool. I just wonder if it needs a small text instruction maybe bottom right
Click the comic anywhere for the next page.
Otherwise I don't think it would occur to me to do it.
Your right lol.

I'm excited about the Library because growing up I used to be a comic book artist. This add-on makes me want to draw again. That's not my comic btw, just using it as an example.

Yes that looks much more helpful Dre.
But just to nitpick I prefer useful instructions at both top and bottom. Byt the time I've been transported by your content I've forgotten that quiet instruction at the top :( in fact I might have been so keen to get to the goodies I might have missed it completely :( :(

So I'm suggesting your "Click on the image to view the next page." goes top AND bottom.
Also I'd find it aesthetically better if it lined up with the right hand edge of your comic in both positionings.

Have written to our trusty Jon about cloning a page layout for stuff like this.
Respect.

Can you please show me an example of what you mean in lining it up?

library article for dre.webp

There you go. You'd probably have to try pushing the text over a couple of times and adjusting it to get it correctly lined up.
As I said I think this is best placed both top and bottom, on the right.
You then have two distinct ways to move on - pagination buttons (I do like the way you styled yours)
or the text instruction. They don't sit too close so they don't muddle the eye.

There's something wrong with the editing function in this modification. I accidentally deleted a link when I was on the edit page. I canceled my edit and went back and it hasn't reverted to the way it was before I edited the page. If I look at the page normally, it has preserved the post before I edited it. It's just not showing when I try to edit.

Question: Is there a Block planned for Jaxels Portal? I definitly need something like the Slider Block, wich shows the last 5 Articles on the Portalpage.

Principia you'll have to ask Jon (waindigo the developer) to make you a customisation for that; as this addon is being developed for me and I don't use xencarta and don't plan to either. Jon is very good around specialist needs though.

There is a plan to later on create a CMS based on this addon but I think that'll be around 2 months down the line.
See the roadmap.

Apologies, I am not always getting notified when there is a message in this forum. Still getting used to the new RM.

Loving this. One issue: the [code] & [/code] bbcodes don't seem to work properly. The same goes for [PHP] and [HTML]. Seems to be an issue with the HTML that's being output.
I will look into this. Must be using the wrong BB Code compiler or something.

Waindigo, I just rated all of your modifications 5 stars just because of your Library add-on.
Thanks!

I actually disagree. There are very visible "next page" links if someone doesn't realise they can click on the image. I would prefer a nice clean page.

Jon of waindigo has already added more than is on the roadmap
All very exciting. His approach to coding functions is always laconic, unfussy, build with XF core functions wherever possible. I love it.

Teaser: Library can have child Libraries.

Loving this. One issue: the [code] & [/code] bbcodes don't seem to work properly. The same goes for [PHP] and [HTML]. Seems to be an issue with the HTML that's being output.

Using the PHP bbcode, for example, in a normal thread, outputs:
HTML:
<div class="bbCodeBlock bbCodePHP">
<div class="type">PHP:</div>
<div class="code"><code><span style="color: #000000">
<span style="color: #0000BB">asd</span>
</span>
</code></div>
</div>

Whereas using it in a Library article, outputs:
HTML:
<div style="margin: 1em auto" title="PHP"><code><span style="color: #000000">
<span style="color: #0000BB">asd</span>
</span>
</code></div>

EDIT: similar issue with QUOTE.

I have now fixed this issue and will release an updated version later today.

How about the ability to allow/disallow people to post comments on library articles, and to show those comments in what's new? You know, much like forums, including the ability to specify where which usergroups can and cannot post and all that? Would be very helpful.
Comments in What's New is a good idea.
Article + Comments should probably be the goal.
