[TH] Join User Group [Deleted]

So, what exactly is going on here? Has someone forked the add-on, or are they submitting buggy code that Jon is including?

More specifically, is the buggy/broken code included in the 1.1.0a release?
Sorry, this was completely my fault. I hadn't noticed that a feature was missing in the updated version. It will be added back for the next update. It is not included in the 1.1.0 release or the 1.1.0a release.

Waindigo updated Join User Group by Waindigo with a new update entry:

Version 1.1.1 released

Bug fixes:
  • Re-added missing feature from 1.0.9 that moderators of joinable user groups can now approve requests and kick people out of their joinable user group.
  • Fixed bug from 1.0.9 that requests approved through the joinable user groups account page were not removed from the moderation queue, despite request actually being approved.
  • Withdraw request link is now right-aligned on joinable user groups account page to make it look neater.
  • Changed phrase "Requested -...

People are able to join moderated usergroups now without being approved.

I've checked the permissions and it still just ends up with can or can't join (Whether moderated or not).

Since the latest 1.1.1 release or since 1.1.0?

Have you set up joinable user group moderators to moderate the requests?

Since this release. I've had it working for months with moderators assigned to groups but by giving people permission to request access they get full access when they request to join rather than waiting to be moderated like before.

There is a new option to mark groups as moderated. Have you checked that?

Ah under "joinable User Groups" in the admin control panel. Yes found it now, thanks :)

No problem. I will add a note to the resource description as that should probably be brought to the attention of other people who are upgrading.

I note that you have left a 4 star review for this add-on. Did you sort that problem out that you were having? My understanding is that it was a problem with the way you had set up permissions and not with this add-on?

Yes that issue was resolved a long time ago. I've added another rating.

I am currently testing out this Add-on. My idea was to create a "Premium Member" type board and have people that donate request to join a Premium Usergroup. Everything is setup fine, but when I approve the user to the "Premium Member" group, only their secondary group is actually changed.

Because their Primary Group is still a regular forum user, they do not have access to the Premium Boards, they do not inherit any of the special Premium Member permissions, or the CSS styling.

Basically, I still have to go into ACP and manually change their Primary Group to "Premium Member" in order for them to access any of the Benefits. Am I doing something wrong or is this how the mod works?

Can you add an option to reject a usergroup request so that they can never ask again?

You probably have your permission setup wrong. Check if there are any Never upstream of the user's group.

Check if there are any what? All of my permissions are on Allow for this Add-on. Users can request and that works fine. The issue is that this only changes their secondary group not their primary. So they still don't get the correct benefits.

I think I may have figured out what part of the problem is. But I still don't know how to fix it.

Okay say you have 2 user groups. Regular Members and Premium Members.
Now, you have a forum board for Premium Members. So you set this board to revoke permissions for Regular Members because you only want Premium Members to be able to see it.

When a Regular Member requests to join the Premium Group (and they are approved), they cannot see the Premium Forum because it is still Revoked for Regular Members.

No revoke permissions to Regular members. Add permissions to the group premium. Set the minimum permissions to regular members group and add permissions to Premium members group. Set the node permisssions for premium group in the appropriate nodes.
