I'd have though it would be alright, XF quotes are in blockquote tags and when quoting, you're normally replying and adding you're own original content to follow it up.

But it is worth encouraging your users to quote small relevant chunks when this is appropriate rather than entire posts. This is also good for useability and engagement otherwise the relevant bit of the argument they are replying to may be buried in the "click to expand"

What really needs to happen is to bring back threaded threads.
Large quotes are annoying. Proper threading virtually gets rid of the need to mass quote.
