Highlight it goes wonky with some appearing and some disappearing.



Dark version so I'm assuming the text color changes to white?

It's not exclusively to this user either. If I continue, there is white font that acts up highlighting to read under other quoted blocks by other users.

I've cleared cookies and cache. Text appears fine on dark mode, even the reactions in the last post. Just not light mode.



I haven't gone through other threads to see if it's the same, but on most all quotes followed by text in this thread has white text beneath it that can't completely be highlighted at once (have to highlight sections to piece together the reply) and sometimes messed up reactions.

Is this a bug or some kind of new user discouragement cause I complained about GIPHY?

For real though? That's a Xenforo only feature then. Going to roll thread discouragement out in XF 2.4?

I couldn't find it in 2.3.

It's magically fixed now. I think I found a hidden XF user discouragement feature to roll out in 2.4.

What do I win?

Edit: I suppose the bug, if true, would be that it doesn't invert on dark mode...

For what it's worth, I posted my gripe elsewhere so that the GIPHY instructions can be updated.

I didn't want to derail the XF 2.4 thread anymore, so I'm posting here for added context on my gripe and journey with GIPHY.

That said, I've come to terms with GIPHY ... for the members.

My frustration with it was that it was overused without any other content when it was hyped (every reply only a GIF, especially on Facebook). I see it being used more in conjunction with content over being a standalone reply, so it has (de)evolved.

The second issue was a 1st development key rejection using XFs videos and images from this Article.

The 2nd rejection was most likely not showing the...

Odd to have only happened in one single thread over 10s of pages of Articles (in announcements) and 10s of pages of different threads in off-topic viewed to see if they had the same issue, which none of them did, to try and replicate elsewhere on the site.

Also odd that 2.3 came with style variants, and it only happened in light mode...

Even odder after replying here with detailed photos of the bug seen in light mode and not in dark mode, this reply was made,

In that thread only. Without having to clear my cookies/cache again. Just, fixed.

And that this bug report wasn't closed, because the bug is that the discourage threads was designed in/for 2.2 without style variants in mind, perhaps?

But, if you say it was a browser issue for light mode in one thread only after clearing cookies/cache/all site data and viewing it multiple times, and other threads multiple times, okay.

We don't want to give away secret XF features until the HYS 2.4 new thread discouragement option (I would opt for thread bans over discouragement if you're taking suggestions), unless it's not planned anymore.
