Teach me how to make an add-on?

Hi,

Unfortunately I’ve recently had open heart surgery and as a result, I am unable to work. So instead of sitting on my butt all day doing nothing, I’d like to put it to good use and learn to make some add-on’s for Xenforo!

Could someone please point me in the right direction for a total newbie? I’ve read the xf docs, but I feel I’m way out of my depth! I’m willing to learn and I pick things up easily!

Any help would be awesome!

The XF doc linked above gives a pretty good detailing each step. What part are you grappling with?

The official XF2 dev docs linked above are specific to XF2 and won't work in XF1.

The thread linked above was done at the time of XF1 but still contains some good information about the general concepts of working with XF.
