The latest update doesn't seem to be working properly.

I opened the chat page and posted a message but it didn't appear after as much as 20 seconds.

I had to manually refresh the page.

Mine did that earlier, I resubmitted (like a plonker) and it double posted. So, deleted the last one.
Seems ok here tonight but I'll defo check back if all hell breaks loose later tonight.

No, it's still there.

Edit: Oh I see what you mean. Hmmm, that's not good at all. I think I'll re-install the old version.
 
Yes, I just noticed that is what guests see.

I'm going to reinstall the old version as this one seems more problematical.
 
Did you definitely merge the template with the script tag for taigachat.js in it? I changed the path, so it might be loading the old Javascript.
 
I just uploaded and overwrote all files as usual.

I only had 4 outdated templates and I reverted and copied my edits back in.
I'll double check though just in case.

Ok, erm I was gonna say if you want a test login or a template banging over to you to compare, gizza shout? :)
 
Looks like I need to rethink the refreshing code a bit. Will have a minor release out within an hour or two.

Thanks but I've got a local test installation which is 'clean' so I always have a reference :)
 
Def a confirmed problem here with no templates needed changing manually at my end upon upgrade.
Message is entered, doesn't show unless a refresh is ordered.
 
Successful install on a clean live xF. No problems so far but I'm the only one testing it right now. We'll see later tonight when I get some friends to help me test it.
 
Update released :)

0.4.3 (28/03/2011):
  • Halved the number of AJAX requests used when posting.
  • Improved overall stability of the refreshing code, especially when sending messages in rapid succession.
  • Fixed regression in 0.4.2 causing the shoutbox to not load without posting permission.
  • Fixed tab/window focus detection in IE and Chrome
