Thanks everyone for your help in getting me started. This was my first add-on install to XF... very easy once I understood the jargon, with your help, and finding the stuff that wasn't "intuitively obvious" for this n:confused::confused:b!

Had a great chat this ayem with several of my forum members. They're very happy with TaigaChat and see it as an improvement over what we have in the vB forum.
Thanks to everyone here who was so helpful in guiding me through the first time use of the Admin CP and installation of a great add-on.

BIG QUESTION: When the chat text scrolls off the screen, where does it go?

Does it whisp away into the ether never to be read again, or is there an easy way I may migrate it to a Forum thread (fingers crossed!)?
Again, many thanks!

Ok . .. I am working with H-Jack re: adding the chatbox to our new forum website.

This morning I was checking it out and typing away when suddenly an error box popped up on my screen.

I need to know how to upload this screenshot image without having to upload it to a server to get a URL addy.

The message says "The following error occurred (encased in a red banner)

The server responded with an error. The error message is in the Javascript console.

Into the database, see: dark_taigachat
Thanks!
OK, I am a total n:cautious::confused:b re: this jargon... so please bear with my ignorance as I attempt to cure it...
I assume that I go somewhere in the Admin CP to " 'see' dark_taigachat"...
Is that correct? Where then do I go in the Admin CP (or if not there, where, please?) to "see" it?
I'd appreciate an actual path to the chat archive. Thanks!
BTW it would be nice to have a link or button to this area, visible only to the Chat admin or to the admins usergroup (or other admin-selectable usergroup(s) or other categor(y/ies)), located at the bottom of the shoutbox itself.

Second question if I may pray your kind forbearance... How do I set the chat system so that the Chat moderator or admin can edit the individual shouts at any time (that is, they are ALWAYS editable).?

Thanks VERY much...

I hesitated to post this but maybe others are experiencing this problem: My host keeps me saying that taiga chat is driving the server cpu up to the roof (some kind of crawlers monitoring the processes over cpanel) I often deactivate the add-on when I see my site has slown down and it seems after deactivation everything goes back to normal.

My chat activity is not active at all, hardly 3-4 people active chatting at the same time. And I have an average 25 online registered user activity. Visitors can't see the chat. Is my assumption wrong or is there anyhing to it?

What refresh time have you set?

Have guests got permission to post? If so, turn it off.

I'm not getting any host issues here on a shared host setup. Roughly the same sort of stats as laztrix - Up to 4 people chatting (new board), and here at least, mostly evenings.
I just wonder if your host is being arsey or have quite/very constrained rules for certain scripts on your box/service. Wonder if you're being punished for running it?

Moving a highly active board to another server didn't do any good soo I'm guessing you can say that they are being arsy about it. I'm currently searching for a VPS which I have more control over and avoid such matters. I've been warned before for running a certain wordpress addon. Thank you guys for the positive feedback.

Any one else get this error "The provided file is not an add-on XML file" when trying to install the module for XenPorta support?

EDIT:: nevermind...duh. It's a module. I need to import it from XenPorta module screen
