Not in my Forum. The shoutbox is a key training area. It's not for just bs'ing. It's about learning a skill, and it's only open for posting to people who've committed to the training I offer. Being able to locate posts to the chat, once they've been transferred to a Forum post (or someplace that IS indexed by the Forum software), is mission critical. It can't just be blown off.Support for the internal search would be a lot more work than it's worth if you ask me (how often is something genuinely useful posted in a shoutbox anyway?),
In my system, posts are more frequent daily than are the chats. So your pattern likewise does not apply in my site's instance.plus the search indexing load would increase dramatically on small forums where there are likely more daily shoutbox messages than posts (like mine).
Yep that's why I want the content where they AND my users can easily find it.Search engines wouldn't be a problem though
