Based on the Mike's post, I was wondering if is possible to have the admin/mod tools moved into existing toolbar. The main reason I want it relocated is because many users will customize the current Xen style. Since the toolbar contains intricate JS, less we play with it, the better it is. Plus, I think it will look sharper if we keep together all red alerts. First thing we all do when a page loads is to check the upper right area for any "redness". Then, why not keep it all together?

Regarding the additional space used, we can shorten easy the description of each event.

In case someone wonders how I managed to create the screenshot, I simply edited the HTML nodes, in Google Chrome.

What do you do when a Xen page loads... be honest. You are checking for alerts allllllllllll the wayyyyyyyyyyy to the left side of your amazing screen. :)
And, please switch your resolution to 2560x1600. At work, I have a 30inch screen and the alerts are super small. I dare you to post a screenshot at max resolution. :)

I won't ever use a res that big; the highest I usually go is 1600x900 or around there, as its what I'm use to.

I would actually prefer the alerts more to the right, but I can see what Kier is saying, I'll probably make a custom style just for me to have it the way I want when I buy a license.

dual screen setup helps :p 1920*1200 24" and 1680*1050 22"
alerts are noticeable enough imo...
admin/mods alerts on top left makes sense... and admin area on top right feels natural again imho...

I don't particularly care which side of the screen they're on but if they're outside the main forum wrapper and not easy to move by hacking the templates then that's going to be a problem.

Of course they're easy to move around with simple template edits, what on earth would make you think they would not be?

I didn't, which is why I said "if".
I just find the position of the admin navbar a bit odd.
I can't be the only one who will want to wrap the forum in their own template with the main forum navbar being the top of the forum page directly below a custom banner/header.

Of course by hacking the template it introduces more problems when it comes to upgrading but I guess that's something that will just have to be managed.

Somehow, we need to convince Kier and Mike to integrate the admin options into current navbar...

Suggestions? :)
So where would you put the Moderation Que, Reported Posts, and the ACP link? The mockups I've seen so far only deal with reported content, but not the other stuff.

The way it's shown in the screenshots by Mike/Kier looks nice.

I want them separate, because it is something that is only shown when there are outstanding issues. Once, as an administrator or moderator, you have resolved all of the pending situations, that bar will go away.

I would not add more crap clutter to the existing navbar.

We (as you've put it) do not need to do anything :). There is a clear vision behind this implementation and the reasons to do it this way not only are very valid, but it shows to me how much bright thought/vision lies behind the really outstanding UI of this entire product. I am so glad to see Mike&Kier approach so much areas of their product through the eyes of the enduser instead of through the eyes of technicians/developers...

Amen.

VERY well said, Grover.

I was referring to the users who agree with my idea.

I rather convince you to realize you've made your point and that they've considered your feedback :)
Kier&Mike changed their minds many/several times, based on feedback received from users.
Example: Star > Bubble > Dot

Look again at the screenshot.
