XF 1.2 Style not changed after database rollback

So had a client contact me that at 7pm or shortly after they messed up their skin and requested it be restored from our hourly backup. So we dropped the database and restored it from the 6:02pm database backup. All posts after 6pm are gone, so the restore went fine, but client says his theme still has the changes after 7pm. Any idea what is causing that?

    Any form of caching implemented?

Do the happen to store the style as files?

Nope, checked his config file and memcache or apc not enabled. Customer said he cleared his cache and all. Haven't heard back since suggesting to try a different browser.

Didn't think of that, let me ask

They would need to have caching implemented to store templates as files, hence my first question.

Well, to clarify, they could be storing the templates as files without a caching mechanism.
It just wouldn't really do much.

    It's worth checking anyway.

Try adding a new style to force a rebuild of the style cache.

He says "I have tried IE, Firefox and Chrome. No changes."

Yeap, we tried that already too

Can they actually see the changes in the templates that they made (and you reverted with your backup)?

hmm, he is saying extra.css is empty now. Said he had a bunch in it for a while now that he hasn't touched.

Was it supposed to be empty after the back up?

He isn't sure, it had code in there with 1.1.5 but he hadn't checked since upgrading to 1.2 yesterday.

Though upgrading shouldn't remove anything from extra.css

Can you provide me ACP details via conversation?

Sounds to me like he's not sure what should be there before or after the restore.

On balance I would probably chalk this one up to user error.
