Can a style change cause the pages indexed on Google to significantly drop?

No. All we did were color changes, much like making a red theme of the Xenforo default blue.

I was just wondering if that could've caused a deindex as I'm going down a checklist of things that could've ruffled Google's feathers as one of the last things possible.

If all you did was change the color, it's probably just them messing with their algorithm. Alternatively it could be something about your content (authority, trust, freshness, quality, etc) or even a change in what sites link to yours. Just make your site the best it can be and hope for the best.
