We have made a change here. It will require the user who posted to have an avatar, OR for you to have a metadata logo configured in style properties.

I upgraded to XenForo 2.0.1.
But the problem continues...

Bear in mind what I said:

If you check a thread which has been started by an author who has an uploaded/hosted avatar then you will see it works fine. For everyone else, you need to have a metadata logo specified in your style properties to be used as a fallback image.

Indeed. The author of that thread does not have an uploaded avatar, so there is no image to display. It will fall back to using your site's publicMetadataLogoUrl style property -- you haven't set this yet.
