Stopping Spam.

Hello.

I'm using Google's reCAPTCHA on my forum though the odd bot keeps getting through. I'm fairly bored deleting accounts and adding temporary email addresses to the banned list.

Is there anything that completely stops spam?

I wish I could just rely on this.

I have an API key for every service apart from akismet but I've just signed up for an API key.

A bot keeps making account and uses the same if not very similar website in their profile, email addresses are always temporary addresses.

You do know this is already built into XenForo?

Yeah I know it's built into XenForo.

I was just wondering if anyone knew how effective it was compared to the others.

I also recommend setting up spam phrases (see the link above)
That's one of the best ways.

This will stop 99% from being able to register, use the Questions and Answers:

A: spinach

Of course the only guaranteed method of stopping all spam is to not run a forum...

And, depending upon your forum target audience, perhaps 50% of potential members who cannot answer the question easily and say, "ahhh, fuq it"
