Sportsbook & Betting Exchange

Sportsbook & Betting Exchange [Paid] 1.10.1

No permission to buy ($45.00)
hi, i just asked a few questions before.

I'm running a German website. In Germany we use a different odd-system than in US or UK.

example: FC Bayern Munich vs Borussia M'Gladbach - 1.7 / 6 / 9

when u place ur bet and you say bayern will win, you will get 1.70$ for 1$. For a correct wager on a draw, you'll get 6$ for 1$ and 9$ for 1$ if Gladbach will win.
Sportsbook is using a different odd-system, I guess, but I think that my users will be confused by it. So is it possible to show other odds?

and

is it easy to translate the plugin into german language?

It is easy to do that same specialty bet above in sportsbook, you'd create the 3 different outcomes for the event and members can place their wager on the one(s) they want.

FC Bayern Munich Wins payout odds 170/100
Borussia M'Gladbach Wins payout odds 9/1
Game ends in a Draw payout odds 6/1

When it comes time to Settle the event, you simply select (via check box) which outcomes payout (if any) and hit submit.

Im pretty sure they will be able to understand this fairly quickly.

This single outcomes system allows you to create as many outcomes as you want for a single event. You can have several player outcomes like "Player X gets a Red Card" 25/1 if you want to.

As far as translating, yes, Sportsbook uses the core xf phrasing system to allow you to translate it :)

Awesome! This is one of the things that attracted me most to XenForo! :)

I have a couple of questions. I didn't have time to read through all of the dialogue so please forgive me if it has been addressed.

A. I see there is a built in cash system. Is there any way to tie that to site purchases? Say you wanted to offer $1,000 in Sportsbook cash for $5 or $5,000 for $10, etc. Is that possible?

B. How do the bookies work? Do users need to be assigned/apply to be a bookie? Can anyone be a bookie?

C. How do most users apply Sportsbook to their site? Do they generally only offer it to paid subscribers? Outside of what I mentioned, is there a way to monetize it?

Appreciate the feedback!

For (A), search the resource manager here as there is an add-on that allows you to do that exact thing with paypal. For (B), there are usergroup permissions - create a new usergroup and just assign them the bookie permissions... then assign this new secondary usergroup to people you trust :)

To expand on RDR's post. User group permissions for Sportsbook are broke out into 3 groups of permissions (user permissions, bookie permissions and moderator permissions). The best way to do it is to create 3 bookie groups (Super Bookies, Bookies and Jr Bookies). Super Bookies get all bookie permissions which allow them to do anything to any event. Bookies get only permissions to fully manage their own events. Jr Bookies can have Settling revoked (which means the can create and partially manage the event by adding and editing outcomes/payout odds, but a Super Bookie must settle the event). This solves an issue with new bookies creating unrealistic payout odds and being able to settle them.

As far as A, I believe its Mike Edge that released an addon that allows members to purchase sportsbook cash.

C. My sites are paid membership, so all members have access to it.

Just my 2 cents Bob, and I know you're busy as ****, but I think if you made a guide for setting these groups up, including steps and/or screenshots, this would go a long way to alleviating a LOT of the repetitive questions you get in here.

I just noticed that when I like a comment on an event page on the new release, that it doesn't come up that I liked it. The likes summary box doesn't show up under the comment.

those templates have changed, so you most like need to either merge or revert. (there are a ton of template changes)
