lately a lots of spammers are now bypassing the recaptcha of XF.
    anyway to combat this?

    maybe add a
    -question and answer + recaptcha?

    help how to fight spammers

You can use one or the other, not both.

Switch to Q&A if ReCAPTCHA isn't working for you.

It won't stop human spammers though.

Make 'registered users' have all the permissions you want, except 'follow message moderation rules' to not set (no). Then make a 1 post (or whatever you like) user promotion to 'verified users' that has 'follow message moderation rules' set to yes.

I was replying to your 'how to fight spammers'. This makes it so any posts by spammers (or new members) will be held for approval.

    oh i see.
so all members first 5 posts will be manually approved.
i guess with lots of newbie legit members that can be tasky.

    how about this idea:

we all know spammers post because of working CLICKABLE URL LINKS
thats where they are paid for (robots and human spammers)

If we can have a setting in XF that if user has less than 10 posts
he cannot use the BB CODES to make the links CLICKABLE.

human spammers tends to post based on the thread topic or category
they just add their keywork url link.

so even if "human spammer" post a copy and paste paragraph and with their
    URL LINK, its not clickable.
advantage on our xf site as its additional keyword contents.
disadvantage to spammers as they are not paid for non working link.

in the end, "real good writer human spammers" are our content contributor minus their working links :)
    good for us XF owners
