sonnb - XenGallery (XenForo Gallery) [Deleted]

I try to convince the "PhotoPost - vbb" importer to run. The folder strukture of my PhotoPost Pro installation is:

x:/forum/album/data/
x:/forum/album/data/500/
x:/forum/album/data/500/medium
x:/forum/album/data/500/mini/
x:/forum/album/data/500/thumbs
x:/forum/album/data/510/
x:/forum/album/data/510/medium
x:/forum/album/data/510/mini/
x:/forum/album/data/510/thumbs
...

I just upgraded to 8.4, but this structure keeps the same. Theoretically this could be my fault/a problem with the PP upgrade, so I have to check:
Is the above mentioned folder structure still correct for PP 8.4? If not, how should it look like?

Your importer, @sonnb , stops with an error, when I configure it with x:/forum/album/data/ as starting point:

So, it seems it does not expect to have those 500, 501, 502... 5501... folders I have.
Your structure is correct. 500, 501 is the category id. I do not remember exactly why I have medium folder in the test board why making this. I suggest you to create a folder named 'medium' inside your path and run importer again. I will remove this check in the next update.

Yes, that's it. Just an empty folder within data/ - and the importer starts without error.

Hello, I've to admin that I prefer your gallery over the XF one. The look is more appealing :D and since I'm planning to use a gallery on my forum I'd like to ask you what are the main differences between the two, if possible, and if I can use BD Attachments to offload the pictures to an external server.

The first, and the most important different is XF gallery stores photos in attachment system and only one size other than thumbnail. When you see a photo, you will need to download the whole photo (eg: 5MB). XenGallery stores several sizes in structured folders. You can control what the size is. When you see a photo, it is just a large size of photo, not the one user uploaded. So you will see XenGallery loads faster for the same photo. XenGallery also uses more Ajax to delay loading of images, you will see the layout faster than in XF gallery. And other features need your discoveries.

You can use DB attachment store in XenGallery.

Love it :) Instead of use BD Attachments, there's no way to upload and host images directly on another server? My problem is that I don't have so much space and bandwidth on my forum's server so I want to use another server where I don't have these problems. I use BD Attachments for the forum attachments and I cannot use it also for the album images.

Can you help me with that? Is the only thing that prevent me to buy by now since I cannot put the images on my main server.

Another question. There isn't an easier way from mobile to copy, for example, an image bbcode to insert in a post on the forum? Many of our user will use this on mobile and I'd like to make them happy...

Showing fields with bbcode in it looks ugly, how about a button "Share this on forum" or "Copy forum bbcode"

For photopost import, what does it import? What happens to photopost URLs?

I afraid nothing I can do right now since it shares same settings with XF.

They can click on share button while viewing an album or photo?

What do you mean? It does not display fields with bbcode. Only if you click on "Share" button.

It imports all photos. It does not support redirect yet.

wow!! i can even view the video on my mobile phone! And the sharing options have BB Codes!

I'm looking forward for this! We need a gallery with video upload capability! Awesome gallery sonnb!

Hi @sonnb,
Can you please make it so that when we import a thread to the gallery from the thread view, that a job runs to check if theres been any new attachments in that thread and if so, include them in the gallery?

A killer feature would ideally be so that any new attachments in threads automatically get added to the gallery.

yeah i was like, this is so cool. like using the share into bbcode into a forum post video bbcode is awesome.
so far i have tested on WIN7 IE Latest, FF, Chrome. iPhone 4 Safari. Windows 8 phone IE, ipad. working great.
works on WINXP FF, although some small issues.
XP IE8, a little bit messy but works.

i must say its a good start for a addon not yet released.
all round forum and gallery mobile compatible, its great ;)

If he works hard i think he can't beat xenforo's media gallery. If not already!! hehe

Here is a suggestion for sonnb. In the future please allow members by permission by usergroup to download the videos. (although you would need a very powerful server to allow this)

I hope to see some documentation when it's released. Id like to know what type of video files you can upload.

Cool Gallery!! This makes me happy!!

yeah that would be good.

and from what i see so far supported are: mp4,flv,avi,mkv,wmv,3gp,mov,
actually, its mediaelement.js player. so correct me if im wrong, what ever that player supports sonnbs addon will. just a thought.

ive had to close down a clip-bucket site due to, out of date. so im about to give this gallery a good work out would hundreds of vids.

ah, ive only tested flv and mp4. will be testing the other soon as i can.
