XF 2.1 "Something went wrong" when trying to upload image

Just updated yesterday from 1.5 to 2.1.

When a customer clicks on Insert image to insert an image hosted on an external website to a post or their signature, after inserting the link and clicking the button to proceed, an error message intermittently appears "Something went wrong. Please try again or contact the administrator." I'm able to insert some files myself, but many do not work.

Anyone able to help please?

Odds are it's an issue at the server level with mod_security. Hehehe host whitelist the offending error.

I’ve spoken to our hosts and they do not use the mod_security

Okay, then what's the error in the browser console? Press F12 to activate the browser console and select the [Console] tab.

That was just an example. It isnt the actual image.
