so what's the deal with the delay before the link overlay loads?

We use a customized version of the inline popups code from TinyMCE. There is a weird index.php request that has been noted, though I haven't tracked down where it's coming from yet. On the whole, it works identically to the "default" inline popups code. I'm seeing a lot of "connecting" time in Firebug when making these requests, which I'm a bit unsure about.
 
when un-linking a link within the text-editor, then the un-linked text remains marked blue.
it is difficult to get the blue marked text being un-marked again, so that you can select e.g. another text to mark and link.

seems a bit buggy...
