XF 2.3 So like a dummy……….

I had auto upgrades set for asap. Now with 2.3 we my forum is a disaster and I had to take it off line.

I tried creating a default theme with no add ons and still no luck. XF says there’s no version roll back option. Third party theme says a week or 2.

I guess we see what’s left when the dust settles.

If you're using XF Cloud, you should have automated backups and they should be able to roll it back for you.

This is what I'm afraid of. I'm just now finished paying a web developer to make a lot of alterations to my forum. So do I dare upgrade to version 2.3?

Major updates are known for breaking a lot of stuff. How long can I hold out on version 2.2 before I'm forced to voluntarily break a bunch of stuff?

As there are plenty of forums still using v1 then that is 6 or 7 years so I’d think at least that or maybe double.

Maybe security updates, I'm not sure.

And you just wouldn't want to fall too far behind times, it would seem. Other forums may look a lot more attractive and have more functionality, and lure away your members.
