Since when does google know the best answers!?

I googled and this is the result:

I didn't know Google could distinguish between a normal answer and an accepted answer.

At least not for traditional forums.

The metadata we use in our markup is essentially the same metadata that sites like Stackoverflow use in theirs. It is a standardised schema that is available to use by any website.

Thats really nice to see.

Ìts such a shame that answers are defined per forum, instead of per thread. We have such massive numbers of Question threads with rich content, but mixed in with many other types of threads. As we have a mass of forums already, creating a subforum for each thread type does not seem to be a solution. That would cause the site to be more silo-ed instead of more integrated. Some form of integration of thread types and content types so users could post and read all types from a topic central page would make a world of difference for usability, discovery and SEO.

Hmm, I don't understand what you are talking about.
Question threads can have answers up-/downvoted and users with appropriate permission can select one reply as the best / accepted answer per thread?

I don't understand this as well :(
