Closed Similar threads widget shows in reports forum even when excluded in options

That option only stops similar-thread suggestions from appearing while a new thread is being written in those forums. The Similar threads widget is controlled separately, by its widget positions. To hide it in a particular forum, add a display condition to the widget that checks the thread's forum.

OK that is a workaround for anyone who knows to do that, however the average forum owner would not expect it to be designed that a report forum (that many forum admins configure via settings) should show similar threads when excluded by the ES settings.

The display of the similar threads widget is a separate concern that isn’t mentioned in the option name or description.

No it's OK, easy enough to add the condition.
