XF still shows an unsightly error message when attempting to view the profile of a member with the profile privacy option enabled. It also seems to be becoming increasingly common, meaning that you run into this a lot:
The irony, however, is that if I click on the same members' names I can get this:
Not only can I see Join Date and Location, but I can also see the user's post count and even search their posts. And yet... actually going to their profile gives an error instead of showing the information that I can already see.
XF could easily do something along the lines of this instead of showing a blank error page:
The information shown is information that's already publically available to the viewer, while the actual profile portion such as the about me and visitor messages are hidden from the viewer.
