Should templates not revert when upgrading?

I have 3 custom templates.
Also edited node_list.css and PAGE_CONTAINER.

My 3 templates where still there.
node_list.css seems untouched but PAGE_CONTAINER was reverted.

Wouldn't it be better to be prompted to revert before you loose your edits?

There were some major changes made to the templates/css which involved the page_container.

I expect once the software is stable, this situation won't occur as any edits will be retained.

Changes to the Header Template

The old 'header' template has been renamed 'logo_block', and has a <div id="logoBlock" /> wrapped around its contents.​

I see. I didn't know if it was a bug or by design.
I realize v1 is still in it's formative year.

Edit2: forum_list also reverted.
