Yeah I know that, but that was not my point.
??? That was not my point![]()
I'd also like to know what the point was if possible. So what was your point then?

Well, the question was meant for the topic starter, why do you want to answer that anyway? So what was your point then? Seems you formulated it in a way that no one understands and you ask a question while you do not want answers to it. Maybe you should clarify what you wanted to say, including making your point explicit.
What do you mean by that? If you renew your license, you support development. I'm not saying that you shouldn't do that, but why would you do this up front, as in early? If there is no discount, I would just wait until the license expires or even wait until there is a new release to be downloaded.1. To support the company and the ongoing development .
Yes, that's the same. You really don't understand do you?2. To be at ease if you ever need support beyond of what the forum delivers
Well, the question was meant for the topic starter, why do you want to answer that anyway?
Second, the answers you give show me that you didn't understand my post. You probably read the first line and thought you had to respond.

Possibly you have sent your question as a dm then instead of posting it in a public thread. Or tagged the thread starter and mentioned that you do not want any answers as you consider it as rethorical question and no discussion anyway as you consider your opinion as the only one that is valid and relevant.Well, the question was meant for the topic starter, why do you want to answer that anyway?
That's what I wrote after you said "this was not my point". And I asked you to explain what your point is - which you still did not do.Second, the answers you give show me that you didn't understand my post.
A bit harsh and clearly untrue. You probably read the first line and thought you had to respond.
There is no "early", as you have been told earlier (but obviously failed to recognize). Either you are licensed or expired. I extended indeed "early" at the end of 2023 when I bought 2 years extension despite my license ran until August 2024. You seem to relate the license solely to being able to download actual versions which is a complete misunderstanding of what you buy with a license. What do you mean by that? If you renew your license, you support development. I'm not saying that you shouldn't do that, but why would you do this up front, as in early?

I wrote that it's just my feeling because there's nothing official! I think this is because XF updates are becoming fewer and fewer, and for this reason, admins are renewing licenses less and less unless there are security bugs that need fixing.Do you have any foundations for your "feeling" that in both aspects you mention is in direct opposite of what Chris has officially stated? Or do you just like to spread FUD?
Is this true? And in comparison to when? It shouldn't be too hard to check before making such statements:this is because XF updates are becoming fewer and fewer,
Is this the case? Do have any insides in the company that we others lack? Again, Chris has officially stated the opposite of what you claim.and for this reason, admins are renewing licenses less and less unless there are security bugs that need fixing.
And you could as well be hit by a meteroite this afternoon. Either is possible - but not probable. Once more Chris has officially stated the opposite of what you say. With a new version, they can change the rules like Invision 5 did...
I completely agree. Aside from that, unless there's a significant update, I don't plan on upgrading. Even despite un-official statements.I say wait till there’s a new update but then I’m a good developer and I know how to fix my own problems so each their own.![]()
Even if your forum had so many bugs in it that you needed to upgrade. C'mon mate that's why you have the minor updates.I completely agree. Aside from that, unless there's a significant update, I don't plan on upgrading. Even despite un-official statements.
So see you alter 2.3.10.11..99I would wait until 2.4 to renew your license.
Yes you right. Of course all minor updates are important. But paying annually for these minor updates isn't fair. Because once we pay, the developer should stand behind their product. I'm not criticizing the XF licensing system here; it's their choice, but I think they could be fairer to users as well.Even if your forum had so many bugs in it that you needed to upgrade. C'mon mate that's why you have the minor updates.
Next one is 2.4 mate.So see you alter 2.3.10.11..99
2.3.9: "This version only includes security fixes and any bug fixes we previously said would make it to 2.3.9 have now been delayed until 2.3.10."Next one is 2.4 mate.
