Should I extend my license (!)

So what was your point then? Seems you formulated it in a way that no one understands and you ask a question while you do not want answers to it. Maybe you should clarify what you wanted to say, including making your point explicit.
Well, the question was meant for the topic starter, why do you want to answer that anyway?
Second, the answers you give show me that you didn't understand my post. You probably read the first line and thought you had to respond.

1. To support the company and the ongoing development .
What do you mean by that? If you renew your license, you support development. I'm not saying that you shouldn't do that, but why would you do this up front, as in early? If there is no discount, I would just wait until the license expires or even wait until there is a new release to be downloaded.

2. To be at ease if you ever need support beyond of what the forum delivers
Yes, that's the same. You really don't understand do you? :)

I think it's the opposite. When the system offers something new, I buy it. They don't develop it further just because I buy it. So supply creates demand.

Possibly you have sent your question as a dm then instead of posting it in a public thread. Or tagged the thread starter and mentioned that you do not want any answers as you consider it as rethorical question and no discussion anyway as you consider your opinion as the only one that is valid and relevant. :)
Second, the answers you give show me that you didn't understand my post.
That's what I wrote after you said "this was not my point". And I asked you to explain what your point is - which you still did not do.
You probably read the first line and thought you had to respond.
A bit harsh and clearly untrue.

There is no "early", as you have been told earlier (but obviously failed to recognize). Either you are licensed or expired. I extended indeed "early" at the end of 2023 when I bought 2 years extension despite my license ran until August 2024. You seem to relate the license solely to being able to download actual versions which is a complete misunderstanding of what you buy with a license.
You really don't understand do you? :)

Seems rather to be you who does neither understand what the license is nor why one could want to stay continuously licensed despite :)

Do you have any foundations for your "feeling" that in both aspects you mention is in direct opposite of what Chris has officially stated? Or do you just like to spread FUD?
I wrote that it's just my feeling because there's nothing official! I think this is because XF updates are becoming fewer and fewer, and for this reason, admins are renewing licenses less and less unless there are security bugs that need fixing.
With a new version, they can change the rules like Invision 5 did...

Is this true? And in comparison to when? It shouldn't be too hard to check before making such statements:

We had a gap of six month between July 25 and Jan 26 which has been discussed excessively on this forum. It has now been bridged with the release of 2.3.8.. Other than that I can't see any incidence of "fewer and fewer releases".
Maybe you should relate to facts rather than to phantasy or your feelings...

and for this reason, admins are renewing licenses less and less unless there are security bugs that need fixing.
Is this the case? Do have any insides in the company that we others lack? Again, Chris has officially stated the opposite of what you claim.

So again: Maybe you should relate to facts rather than to phantasy or your feelings...

And you could as well be hit by a meteroite this afternoon. Either is possible - but not probable. Once more Chris has officially stated the opposite of what you say.

So again: Maybe you should relate to facts rather than to phantasy or your feelings...

Seems that you are averse to facts and instead like to create drama and FUD.
