XF 1.5 Setting Up Xenforo Email? How to get email confirmations to work?

Hello,

I just wanted to ask the community this easy question but as I am new to Xenforo and we didn't actually have an MX entry to avoid attackers getting our ip, I hope you can help.

Our confirmation emails are not being sent. We don't have an MX Entry. Is this why?

I have ordinary email settings such as my yahoo email address (not SMPT).

Although for some reason users are not receiving the email and cannot reset their passwords until it's fixed since we just migrated from vbulletin 5.

Any idea why?

In general you would just select the default php method in the ACP.

That requires sendmail (or the equivalent) to be installed on the server.
Your host should be able to help with that.
