Are there any plans to add a new method to the search handler, which returns the newest X records.
ATM it's not possible to have a "global what's new" search, so we would have to implement for all own searchable content types (content types with an search handler) something like you've made in XenForo_ControllerPublic_FindNew::findNewThreads and then collect the results and output them.
with help of this, you could have a global what's new page
IMO it's probably not hard to do this as add-on, BUT it's something for the core
(even there search is a pain, the new_x searchcontrollers in vB4 are a nice idea)
