So if I'm typing in the quick search top right and I then click Advanced search, the contents of the search box are now retained and displayed in the 'Search everything' tab of the advanced search. I think this is something new in 2.3?
However, if I'm typing in to the Advanced search form but then decide to change the type, the contents of the search box are lost.
It's a minor irritation, but all adds up to a worse UI than if it simply remembered the contents.
Where Xenforo succeeds is when going from a quick new thread form to the full new thread form via the 'More options' button where the contents entered so far are retained. So we know XF is doing this kind of thing elsewhere.
So if you have been mildly irritated for a moment by losing your search term when changing search type, please upvote so that the fine folks at XF towers will make the search even more user friendly for us.
