As designed RSS feed author invalid

in the rss feed,

lot's of 'invalid' citations around emails. is this by design?

It is by design, yes.

Users wouldn't generally appreciate us outputting their real email addresses, but the author field in that format is required in the RSS spec.
 
It's just simply a way to satisfy the requirement. Having a real email address there would make no difference to anything. I'm not entirely convinced there are many RSS readers that would display or otherwise use that information, and if they did, I'm not sure how many people would actually use it to email you.
 
I display RSS feeds from my forum on my wiki and it displays the email in it and I would strongly prefer that it showed an email from my domain.
