XF 1.2 Route Filters

So I've been banging my head against a brick wall for a while now. I'm completely new to xenforo and just don't seem to under stand how route filters work. I want http://blockrealms.net/index.php?forums/ to be instead http://blockrealms.net/forums/ I've tried several 100 different combinations in the route filters boxes. Read the guides, looked at the wiki, ect. I just don't understand, it just keeps saying "The find route must start with a route prefix."

Every where I've looked, I can't found out what this means. What is a route prefix? is it a /? because I've tried that.

Also I've created a new page and I've find its incredibly frustrating to even find a way to edit it. I still have yet to find a way to edit the darndable thing and add anything to it. I realize that xenforo is a professional software, but coming from things like e107.. yeah I know old school, I just don't understand this system at all. It took me 4 hours to figure out where to put in the css code to add in shadows.

Please contact your host to confirm that they have mod_rewrite installed and allow overrides via an .htaccess file.
We own our own box, I had to do some research into mod_rewrite and how to enable it. So now thats fixed. But how in the world do I add things like html and the like to this new page I've created and linked to home?

Heck I'm not even sure its linked to be honest. This is what I did. http://blockrealms.net/ is supposed to go to http://blockrealms.net/home/ but of course.. it pretty much ends in a dead page.

I created a new page called home then went through and did the board url to be http://blockrealms.net/home index page route to home/ home page url to http://blockrealms.net/ I think I'm missing something somewhere...

BTW, thanks alot for the help so far. I'm just completely new when it comes to xenforo and all of its requirements and intricacies. So I'm probably going to be here quite often.
