resending activation emails?

I have received notices from a few unconfirmed members that they never received the original activation email. Is there currently a way to resend that activation email?

There is a link they can click themselves at the top of the forum home page to resend the email.

New user just registered didn't get an email confirmation, ok, it's probably in spam, we know this but...this bit may confuse users when they attempt to resend...

Having the extra dot at the end of the sentence suggests that the email has an extra dot added, I'm wondering why it's there?
