How to send an email with activation link to users in awaiting confirmation status?

There are times when a mail server may be down, screwed up, etc. and activation emails didn't get out reliably. I now need to go back and send an email to these users to remind them to complete their activation. I don't know what the activation email link is to include in a message. Can someone tell me how I can craft a message that would include the link they need to click to activate their email?

Yes, I have that add-on that does this but I'm beyond that processing date, I need to get this to much earlier registration attemps.
