XF 2.2 Require approval for new threads

Hi all!

Is there any way to require approval for new threads for a specific user group? I don’t want to require approval for all their posts, only for opening new. Is there a way to set up something like that?

(In the ACP User Group Permissions section I only see the option “Submit content without approval” which would include all posts not just new threads.)

Any help is very appreciated!

Forum nodes have both:

• Moderate new threads posted in this forum
• Moderate replies posted in this forum

So you'd just pick the new threads option instead of replies. Then use that permission for your user group.

If I picked the new threads option in the node permissions, how would I set up so that some user groups should be able to post without approval?

I just tested and you'll need an addon to bypass the forum setting:

Thank you @AndyB I checked out your add-on before asking this question, but it looks like that this add-on will moderate all posts for new users, not just new threads.

Thank you!! This might work for me. The only drawback with this approach is that for some forums I’d like to keep new thread and/or post restrictions for all user groups but if I use this bypass add-on it will bypass for those groups on all forums.

Would be nice to have an option to require new threads approval for specific user groups.
