XF 2.0 Rejected members - Can they sign up again

Hey

Can rejected members sign up again using the same username and email address, or are they in effect blacklisted until deleted from the rejected list?

If you ban them no, if you delete them probably.

As of XF2, rejected members aren’t deleted so no, you can’t sign up with the same username and email as a rejected user.

In XF1 they were physically deleted.

I wish there was an option to delete them or not. On my site we manually approve registrations based on what’s written in the registration form. It’s a hassle when we reject them and tell them to resubmit.

It's not clear by what you mean by "rejected member". Are you referring to new registrations which are rejected?

Yep, signed up but didn't get approved.

I had not noticed this change from XF1 to XF2.

I'm not sure why this change was made to XF2, I liked that registrations were deleted in XF1.

Oh I see that the decision to retain the username was to prevent registrations from using the same username and or email over again. This message is display if the registration tries to use the same name or email again.



I can see how this could be a problem because sometimes it will be required to use the same username or email address.
