I'll have a look at that tomorrow @Alien (apologies) but I don't think there is an easy workaround since it's going to mean some hacky work in photoshop with no guarantee of it being pulled off to cater for dark backgrounds. Didn't the company behind the redactor editor supply a dark version sprite?

Not that I've been able to locate so far...

If they have that, it would be cool for XF to include that in the same directory for convenience. I appreciate anything you come up with as you can't use the default set on dark backgrounds unless you make the buttons the icons appear on bright/ugly.

I took a look at the sprite and tried some re-colouring techniques on the icons themselves and it just doesn't look right. The best way is if the icons themselves are editable which means they need created from scratch so posting back that there's no quick way of doing this without creating the icons from scratch. I'd probably suggest (if it's possible for xenforo to do and provide) somehow make available a sprite catering for dark backgrounds. Until I come back to these and finish off the rest (create them from scratch in vector form) it's really not worth doing. Sorry @Alien I spent an hour or so applying masking on the existing icons but they looked terrible.

Thank you, Shelley. You've gone above and beyond, and I really do appreciate the attempt.

I will look forward to an awesome new set in the future..

Hopefully also XF includes a dark set at some point, as they already set precedence in their gui sprite including up/down arrows in both light/dark shades so...

Once I've designed and replaced all the icons they'll be easy to edit (it's just getting around to doing them) since it'll be a one click colour change for me to do making it easy for me to change whatever colour you need. If xenforo haven't provided something before I design them I'll be sure to let you know. :)

I'm still experimenting (seeing if there's a shortcut) i can take but likely it's going to need a replacement design. I'm really surprised there's not a psd (editable psd) from the redactor company for the spritesheet since people would obviously want to modify the icons. Just doesn't make sense at all.

@Shelley -- After seeing your wonderful set, and having a little free time today I felt really inspired and whipped this together today to see just how far I can accomplish things myself using your sample file...

Far from your wonderful custom icons, but here was my outcome:

Your lucky it's only 5.. A year ago when I joined it was 20 non-spammy posts.. up hill both ways... in the frost biting snow storms... before you could download.

It's amazing how many people complain when considering they had personal free custom work from me over the years and not too long ago when I did you a custom membercard yet your throwing that in my face.
