Recommended free add on's

Hi People.

I have a brand new forum for alternative cancer therapies Goodbye Cancer Forum and the other day I tried to add a table with bb code to one of my early threads. Only to discover that I could't do it. Which then sent me thinking.

What essential ( in your opinion ) add on's should I install?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Just installed my first addon, marvelous.
