Yep, it was designed like that.
The alert opt out stuff is now a lot more generic and so the alert handlers generate that list automatically. With that in mind, every single one of the alert actions has to fit under a generic label so we had to come up with a name for trophy awards which works.
Previously, it was necessary to create template modifications to append stuff in the list, now it's just a case of adding a phrase and adding the action name inside the Alert handler.
Technically trophies can be awarded manually too, though I appreciate that's not the common use case. So, I know what you're saying, but it was a small compromise to make the process more automatic.
