Reasons we hate XF.

Okay, so here I go.

#1 Alerts - You make me read every single alert I get on my forum. This takes time, and I have other things to do, yet I still feel the need to check out every single one and reply to the thread and apparently so do my members :/

#2 Increase in activity - Yup, Xenforo... you *******! Because of things such as alerts, easy navigation, and a slick design users are more active. This gives me even more work to do as there is more content being added to the site almost every minute. In the last 12 months I have read more text than I have read in my whole life.

#3 Google Ranking - Again, Xenforo seems to have this trick to be able to rank the forum high in google searches and bring in more people who register. In turn, this makes issue #2 happen, and issue #1 after that.

#4 Skinning - It is fun playing around with the CSS code. This takes up a lot of time and I am meant to be having sex with my wife to have a baby. Instead, I am slowly learning CSS3 :/

#5 Addon Developers - They are generally really nice people. So nice in fact that I have used up many hours of their time asking a bunch of questions. This makes me feel bad as I am hassling them to learn.... BUT I JUST CAN'T STOP!

#6 Jake Bunce - The man is beautiful! Yet, he still slaves away helping everyone here. I think we should send him chocolate kisses for Christmas... right boys?

I was hoping for another one of those juicy "I hate this community and I'm leaving now" threads. Thanks for nothing.

Sorry, I just need my daily drama fix now.

LMAO- I was DREADING another one of those juicy "I hate this community and I'm leaving now" threads. This one has given me hope that choosing to migrate to XenForo is not as horrible as say... Ragtek leaving o.O

OK I do seriously hate it that Brogan left who was the best mod in the universe. He just had natural genius as well as needing so little sleep there was a running joke he was a bot. Vale Brogan I wish you could have stayed.

I also hate trying to extract an absolutely crucial addon out of the coders I need to transfer my second forum to XF. I've fought since XF started to get it and I'm on my third coder who says "it's almost ready" .... a lot. Sigh.
BUT my first and third forums are going great. It's just so painful having to go back to "the other software" to work on no. 2.

I totally sympathise on coding taking you over. XF makes it so easy to do most of the obvious things that you charge through your basic design ... then obsession hits.
Here Jake Bunce is the genius and HAS THE ANSWER when you ask! So here's a female kiss for Jake.

But yes how many nights have I sat here pounding the keyboard, searching the W3 website for CSS to get three words to appear in the right place ....
while the most delicious male in the world lies upstairs tenderly spread on my bed falling asleep because I'm not there. I mean we used to have a honeymoon 25 years marriage until XF.
Thank the Goddess my darling understands or at least is forgiving. But as HE'S in his workshop all afternoon fiddling with model ships (very similar top coding CSS by the swearing that I hear) there's not much time left for the meeting of hot hairy bodies.
Oh XF look at what you've done! Your code is just TOO sexy!

Just get ready to resist the seduction of CSS and you'll be fine. XF is SO sleek and comfy. It does need a few addons installed to be truly elegant but all forums do, and hey they do exist. All except that one specialised one for me.
