XF 1.3 Reason for headerproxy

I'm not a designer but right now I'm trying to make my 3rd style for XenForo and I have always asked myself the reason behind the header and navigation bar being at the bottom of the html document and being placed at the top of the page using CSS.

Can anyone please explain this to me?

It is considered good SEO to have your content come first in the source code. The header proxy allows the content to be first.

It helps also loading the content more quickly.
