XF 2.2 What's the ideal size for header images?

Hi Guys!

Im currently using Dimension theme by xenfocus. Great theme and all and I can even choose multiple header image, but for big sizes it gets slow.

So I dont really want to experiment with it, that's why Im asking: what's the ideal size for a header image for this theme (I also asked it in xenfocus forum, but no answer so far) ? Or the ideal size in general?

What size? What resolution? What dpi? 72 dpi is good? What file size?

Whatever size image gives the coverage (width) and quality you need.

I guess. But there should be still an ideal size.
Like Im sure it's useless to use 4K header.... and Im also sure I shouldnt use 100x100 jpg pic.
That's why Im aksing what's your recommendation. What size? What quality? What should I consider before I edit all my headers (I want to use custom headers for all the different categories). etc...

I don't know your use case.

It depends on the width of your site, whether the image should stretch outside the forum width and the full width of the screen, what the image is in terms of content, etc.

So again, whatever size image gives the coverage (width) and quality you need.

I expect an image a few hundred KB in size at most should do it.
