If the guy was similarly clothed and posing in that style then yes, I'd think it was a gay adult site just as I too got the impression that it was a straight adult site with the current female picture.

Although I agree with pretty much all the criticism made so far I don't see any use repeating.

One positive thing I'm curious about though is how you managed to get Papa John's to sponsor your contest? That's pretty neat.

Usually if you work for or know someone who does, sponsorships are often handed out. I knew someone who worked there on a general level & they sponsored a little league team =)

Papa Johns is a pretty neat "community" organization.

I liked the splash page but I love hot girls . I did however think it was porn and although hesitant I had to wait till my daughter left the room to even enter it.

Yes it is different when you enter, however how many potential visitors/new members have not ventured past that page because of the impression one can get from the image and the assumption that it could be just another adult site. Food for thought perhaps?

I think you're kinda missing the point. Like @thejackarmy says.. how many people are you losing because of the assumption made due to that god-awful splash page.

A lot of the criticism towards your site is that ridiculous page, so why not take many peoples advice and get rid!!

Probably most of the people who immediately close their browser because it looks like a porn site. You are immediately scaring away potential members.

Like I said I link my site straight to the forums. ... the reason why I dont get rid of it .. is because I cant find sombody to make me a cool splash page at a reasonable price.
