When using the free demo (http://xenforo.com/demo/) is the Resource Manager included in that demo? From the Admin CP I notice there is a Resources section Applications -> Resources. Is this what the Resource Manager extra refers to, or is this something else?

Previously, I have used Sphinx Search (http://sphinxsearch.com) to allow searching of a large number of messages and threads. Does Elasticsearch have similar principles to this?

Also, how can I change my display name on the XenForo Community?

I think I saw somewhere that I could use different password storing techniques for different members (one member would login with one encryption method, and another user might login with another).

Is this true?

If it is, and I was to use the Import tool, would it be taken care of?

There are no configurable options for that in the core.
I don't believe I have seen an add-on for it either.

Yes. As long as it is a direct import (at least the official importers), passwords should migrate. And when they update their password, they will update to the newest XenForo authentication scheme. Other than imports (or upgrades such as 1.0/1.1 -> 1.2), everyone should maintain the same authentication method.

Do any addons currently exist to allow different sized avatars based on usergroup? I have searched, but I may be looking in the wrong place.

If not, do you (anyone) envisage it would be a complex task to create one (I mean, would it go against what the core XenForo allows) ?

I am not aware of an add-on which does that.

It would probably be possible to have one developed.
