Questions on the software

Greetings Xenforo. My name is Cal. I represent a company right now that is being contracted to start, build, and administrate a forum for a news channel. As vague as that sounds I am not able to say more due to my contract. I am considering using Xenforo because right now it seems like the best software around. I see that Vbulletin's community as all but died out, and IPB is barely doing any better. So I have some questions here that I need answered and I'm hoping your staff can answer for me.

  1. How does this board function with high loads of traffic and is it server resource heavy?
  2. How is it's security? Once I have my project up I expect the threat of hacking to grow.
  3. Are there add on's being developed like Vbulletin's community once was? Is there any expansion coming from the community?
  4. I've searched around the web and I cannot find much on themes. Most of them appear to be very narrow. Are there any good themers? I am looking to gather estimates if anyone knows anyone that does good custom work under a short time table. If not is there anything coming out of the community? Design and theme width are my two largest issues right now.
  5. Is there any support and/or themes to support mobile users? Tappatalk perhaps or something more in house?
  6. Are there any other large board administrators here that I could contact for opinion on experience with the software and how their boards have utilized it?
  7. Does your license allow more than one login to the community? My business partner runs and owns the server...and he will be the one buying the software. However I am the administrator who deals with installation and the rest of the tech stuff. To access the plugin areas and theme areas of the community would I be able to get access on my account, or would I have to share his login to this site?
If we do go with Xenforo I will be emailing more technical questions to you in private. Thank you for your time.

1. Server resources are lower than comparable software.

2. I am not aware of any security related issues.

Thanks, that was fast, and very informative. Is there a better private email I can get to than that small ajax contact form on the front page?

As one of the big board owners, I can say XenForo has breathed a breath of fresh air through our site.

Posting is up, return visitor figures are up, serverloads are down, searches are more relevent.

Everything has been a bonus since moving from vbulletin.

That form goes to our standard ticket system, so feel free to use it.

Yes but it's far too small to send a real email to. This isn't twitter. :-/

Just trying to get some info without revealing information I'm not actually allowed to release to the general population. Work with me here...

Is there an actual link to the ticket system?

I loooove the security of xenforo compared to all the vbulletin forums I've been on that got hacked.

There aren't a ton of annoying security updates for xenforo like there is for vbulletin.

I think that is the greatest plus since I've switched over from vb4 to xenforo.

Well i think security is most important. What you post and all other things should be secured which is well done by xenforo. I have been using the 4.1.11 version but wanted something more new to it. Hope to get it in 4.1.12.

You can hardly imagine working without any software application which a computer provides. So the need of protecting these software applications with the help of software patents is a must. To do so read on this page
