Question about 1.2... Big Board Features

Are there any plans with 1.2 to include things like master/slave support (without plugin) or other big board features? Any improvements to large queries/indexing? Just wondering how much work I should put into hacking scalability and performance features vs waiting for XenForo 1.2.
