XF 1.3 Problem With Registration Approval

I just got spammed to death using the spam filters etc. So I set my options to "enable manual approval" and under the CAPTCHA setting - "Require the registration to be manually approved...."

However, someone just registered, confirmed their email and logged in to the board. I don't see anyone under Users Waiting Approval. What am I doing wrong?

You need to enable it in the Registration area where itr says Enable Manual Approval

You may have to disable the enable email confirmation.

Then how will I know the email is valid?

You won't (unless XenForo sends an email upon approval but I don't moderate my registrations so am unsure)... but what I would recommend is @tenants utilities. With this installed I have absolutely no bots/spam. I use the foolbothoneypot, his custom image captcha (with the additional images avaiable) and some of the others in it.
